Taste Flav is trying to cease the clock in the case of lawmakers namechecking him in Congress.
“I voted against the budget yesterday, not because I’m not for decreasing taxes, but because [of Rep.] Thomas Massie, who wears the debt clock,” Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-Fla.) mentioned at a Home Judiciary Committee markup on Wednesday.
“He’s the Flavor Flav of Congress, walking around with a clock, and [he] says, ‘We’re going to add a trillion dollars to the deficit in three years,'” Moskowitz mentioned of the Kentucky Republican.
Massie — who’s identified to sport a “debt badge” that he designed that “uses Wi-Fi to get the debt to the penny from Treasury once per day” — was the one Republican to vote in opposition to the Home GOP’s finances decision on Tuesday. He had mentioned forward of the vote that the laws would add to the deficit.
On Thursday, Taste Flav responded to Moskowitz’s name-drop
“Don’t drag me into negative politics,” the Public Enemy rapper, who was born William Drayton Jr., wrote to Moskowitz on X.
“I was on the frontlines and raising money for the wildfires,” the 65-year-old performer mentioned. “I buy teachers all their school supplies,” he wrote.
“I truly support Americans in need. I’m here just to spread love and unity while uplifting others,” the entertainer, whose longtime signature look has included an outsized clock necklace, mentioned.
“There’s only one Flavor Flav,” he added. “Ain’t nobody like me.”
Moskowitz then reassured Taste Flav on social media that it “was a positive comparison based on the clock.”
“All love,” the congressman mentioned.
