Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) Friday afternoon that the Home would vote on a modified model of the invoice that was defeated on Thursday — minus the debt ceiling provision pushed by President-elect Trump.
Democrats and some dozen Republicans on Thursday rejected the invoice that paired a three-month authorities funding extension, $110 billion in catastrophe and farm assist and different measures with a two-year extension of the debt restrict.
Senate Republicans have been left fuming over what they known as the dysfunctional “s‑‑‑ show” and “fiasco” they witnessed within the Home, as two proposals to fund the federal government by means of Christmas failed this week.
“I guess it’s back to the drawing board,” incoming Senate Majority Chief John Thune (R-S.D.) advised The Hill as he exited the Capitol.
