Rep. James Clyburn (D-S.C.) on Sunday referred to as the conservative coverage agenda Mission 2025 a “Jim Crow 2.0.”
Clyburn mentioned on CNN’s “State of the Union” that he was the ninth Black lawmaker elected to Congress from South Carolina — nearly 100 years after the earlier Black lawmaker was elected.
He mentioned that was due to the Jim Crow period and likened Mission 2025 to the segregation of the early 1900s.
Trump has tried to distance himself from Mission 2025, drafted by the Heritage Basis, however Democrats have labored to hyperlink the 2 on the marketing campaign path.
“Black men, like everybody else, want to know exactly what I can expect from a Harris administration, and I’ve been very direct with them, and I’ve contrasted that to what they can expect from a Trump administration,” Clyburn mentioned.
“We will expect Project 2025 to be a full-blown policy in his administration. And what will that policy be? I described it on the first night of our national convention, and I’ve been describing it that way ever since,” Clyburn mentioned. “It will be Jim Crow 2.0.”
“If you look at Project 2025, it will be Jim Crow 2.0 and I am amazed at the number of people who actually are interested in contrasting that,” he mentioned.
