New York Mayor Eric Adams is about to face trial on corruption expenses on April 21, a federal choose dominated on Friday, per The New York Instances.
The choose mentioned he would determine at a later date whether or not he would throw out a bribery cost in opposition to the mayor — a request by Adams’s attorneys, the Instances mentioned.
The ruling comes as Adams faces a five-count prison indictment stemming from a federal corruption investigation.
Adams was charged with wire fraud, international contribution solicitation and bribery earlier this 12 months.
After he was charged, Adams insisted he wouldn’t resign from workplace. He pleaded not responsible in September to federal expenses alleging he accepted international marketing campaign donations and journeys for political favors.
The Hill has contacted the mayor’s workplace for remark.
