Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez shot again at President Trump’s “border czar” Tom Homan on Monday after he insulted her intelligence.
Homan, in an interview Monday with Newsmax’s Rob Finnerty, referred to as the New York Democrat “the dumbest congresswoman ever [elected] to … Congress, and she proves that every day.”
“And look, bottom line is, I can’t believe … any member of Congress, Republican, Democrat, Independent, would wanna educate criminal illegal aliens who are in the country illegally, been convicted of a violent crime and had been ordered removed by an immigration judge after due process at great taxpayer expense,” Homan continued.
He added, “You bought a … congresswoman that doesn’t need [Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)] to do the job that Congress has mandated them to do, and funds them to do.”
Ocasio-Cortez responded to the feedback in a put up on the social platform X.
“This is why you fight these cowards,” she stated within the put up. “The moment you stand up to them, they crumble. Homan has nothing. The Fourth Amendment is clear and I am well within my duties to educate people of their rights.”
“He can threaten me with jail & call names all he wants. He’s got nothing else,” the lawmaker added.
Homan in a separate interview on Fox Information stated he requested the Justice Division whether or not Ocasio-Cortez’s efforts to show individuals about their rights whereas coping with ICE is impeding its operations.
“You can claim you [are] educating [them about] constitutional rights,” Homan stated on Fox Information, additionally saying, “But what she [Ocasio-Cortez] is, in fact, doing is telling people ‘don’t open the door, hide in your home, don’t talk to ICE.’”
“We are talking about people who are in the country illegally [and have] committed a crime. They are public safety threats,” Homan added.
The back-and-forth comes after the border czar beforehand steered the lawmaker might be “in trouble,” which Ocasio-Cortez later mocked.
