Rep. Andy Ogles (R-Tenn.) is questioning whether or not range, fairness and inclusion (DEI) performed a job within the deadly aircraft crash at Reagan Washington Nationwide Airport outdoors of Washington, D.C.
Ogles, in an interview with Fox Information’s Maria Bartiromo, was requested if there was any cause to suspect foul play within the accident. The Tennessee Republican, a member of the Homeland Safety Committee, mentioned he would “hate to jump to conclusions.”
“Obviously, we’ll look at everything, check all the boxes,” he informed Bartiromo, including that he noticed the crash on his telephone and was “horrified.” The lawmaker mentioned he’s praying for all these affected by the tragedy.
“But, you know, to your point, I think you have to look at this with eyes wide open,” Ogles continued. “See what happened. You know, human error? Was it some sort of equipment failure? Did DEI play a role in this type of thing?”
It’s unclear what triggered the Wednesday night collision, however Ogles mentioned officers have to verify “something like this never happens.”
“It’s been a number of years since we’ve had an aircraft collision such as this. And so again, prayers for all those impacted,” he added.
The crash occurred late Wednesday evening, when an Military helicopter and an American Airways passenger aircraft collided. A restoration mission is underway for the 60 passengers and 4 crew members onboard the flight and for the three service members on the Black Hawk helicopter. Officers mentioned they don’t look forward to finding any survivors.
It isn’t the primary time Republicans have questioned if DEI performed a job in a deadly accident.
Following the collapse of the Baltimore bridge final 12 months, Utah State Rep. Phil Lyman (R) insinuated the tragedy was the results of politicians who “prioritize diversity over the wellbeing and security of citizens.”
