Authorities stopped a person with a machete from coming into the Capitol, the U.S. Capitol Police stated Wednesday.
In a thread on the social platform X Wednesday afternoon, Capitol Police stated a person tried to enter the Capitol Customer Heart with a machete, with officers having “stopped and arrested” him round 2:00 p.m. EST. The person’s bag was found to have a machete in it by officers amid a safety screening, Capitol Police added, and the person was arrested.
Capitol Police additionally stated of their thread that apart from the machete, the bag additionally had three knives in it, and that “multiple charges of Carrying a Dangerous Weapon” are behind the person’s arrest.
