Home Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) and his GOP management crew will maintain a press convention Tuesday morning, because the Trump administration faces a refrain of criticism over a conflict plans group chat that by chance included a outstanding journalist.
Johnson will communicate to reporters alongside Home Majority Chief Steve Scalise (La.), Home Majority Whip Tom Emmer (Minn.), Republican Convention Chair Rep. Lisa McClain (Mich.) and Rep. Pat Harrigan (N.C.).
Johnson addressed the group chat controversy on Monday, after The Atlantic revealed a narrative by its prime editor, Jeffrey Goldberg, underneath the headline “The Trump Administration Accidentally Texted Me Its War Plans.”
Johnson defended nationwide safety adviser Mike Waltz, who apparently invited Goldberg into the Sign group, and Protection Secretary Pete Hegseth, who allegedly shared secret conflict plans with the group.
The press convention begins at 10 a.m. EDT
